About Center Maryland
Maryland’s long history of pragmatic leadership where Democrats and Republicans can come together serves as the basis for Center Maryland and the Morning Rundown. Center Maryland is led by some of Maryland’s most successful political thinkers and strategists who attempt to help Marylanders get the story, straight down the middle.
Center Maryland produces its own video and written content, along with the Morning Rundown newsletter. The Morning Rundown is an aggregation of statewide news content in one digestible email that subscribers receive between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. on weekday mornings.
Center Maryland is seeking a part-time Content Editor/Aggregator to edit, update and maintain the Center Maryland webpage, and distribute the Morning Rundown daily newsletter. This role is Part-Time, Sunday evening-Friday morning, 2-3 days per week (8-12 hours).
The Content Editor reports to a Supervising Editor who serves as the final editor of the product. This is a telecommuting position that allows the successful applicant to work remotely. The tasks generally take place over two short shifts—the first taking place in the evening and the second the following morning.
· Aggregating Maryland news content for inclusion in daily newsletter.
· Ensuring the proper editing of material included using Center Maryland standard practices.
· Drafting and distributing daily Morning Rundown newsletter by 8 a.m.
· Verifying the inclusion of Center Maryland content and advertising materials on the webpage and newsletter at the direction of Supervising Editor.
· Self-starter who is able to work with a high degree of autonomy.
· Well-organized and a multi-tasker.
· Comfortable communicating on the phone and over email with a variety of supervisory figures.
· Ability to select content in a manner which is unbiased, judicious, and fair to a range of political voices.
· Strong editing skills.
· A burning desire to read the news.

KO is seeking a Public Affairs and Communications Intern to provide support to the team on client accounts, while gaining key experience in strategic communications operations and management. We are seeking a highly organized and reliable individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills. This is a flexible part-time (15-20 hours in office) position with opportunities to work remotely. This position will assist with content development, writing, client research and administrative support to leadership.
Perform account research

Maintain media and other content management software programs (Cision PR, Mailchimp, etc)
Organize and maintain supporter records/database
Assist with media communications
Provide social media support: drafting potential posts, tracking followers, monitoring accounts

The Ideal Candidate:
Student enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program – 3rd and 4th year students preferred, but not required.
Preferred Majors: Political Science, Business, International Studies/ Relations, Public Policy, Communications, Law & Society

This is an unpaid internship; however, students may obtain academic credit.
